This is what Karen was meant to do. "We run our barn on an informal basis, no frills just good honest horsmanship".

Erica Ross, Assistant Trainer & Instructor:
Erica has been riding and playing with horses since the age of six. She is an accomplished rider in the field of hunter-jumper, having competed throughout her youth and early adulthood, winning many a blue ribbon. She was a member of the equestrian team competing at the IHSA level throughout her college career. In the past few years she has taken a great interest in the classical seat, which she incorporates into her riding and training.
Erica recently completed an MBA in International Business from FairleighDickinsonUniversity. She is bilingual in Spanish and is working on learning Portuguese. A world traveler, Erica has been fortunate to be able to fuse her passion for horses with her travels. Having spent three months interning at a show barn in North Yorkshire, England and six months working and riding at an Andalusian breeding and training facility in Central Mexico at the Domecq stables, she is not only a dedicated horsewoman but has been able to develop an international perspective on her training and teaching. She attended the SICAB (Salón Internacional del Caballo) festival in SevilleSpain last year- the worlds largest showcase of the Andalusian Horse- and will be attending again this coming fall.
Her lessons are geared toward the individual students’ abilities and goals, taking skill, fun and safety into consideration. She emphasizes a balanced seat and the ability of the student to ride a wide variety of horses capably and confidently. She is a valuable asset to our staff, bringing passion and enthusiasm to all that she does here at Todal-y Stables.
Our staff is trained in many areas, all have gravitated toward the Classical seat. This they have hybridized toward the normal show areas to make your riding/showing experience safer and more fun. Each training session is geared to your individual level and we match you with a horse that will improve your riding level, not a horse that will automaticly do the requested thing. Yes here you have to work hard to learn to ride.
A love for horses, fun and an open dialogue on training and technique is paramount here at Todal-y. You can be sure that you and your horse are in the best hands at Todal-y Stables.
